Keeping it funky, lots more soul than usual. A lot of popier soul actually. A lot of Californian stuff, I need to research to see if they used different mics out there or something. At least in my mind there is a really Cali sounding reverb or vocal processing on some most of this stuff. Maybe I am making it up...
